TAMPA, Fla. -- A 17-year-old boy was arrested today on charges he plotted to set off explosives at Freedom High School, which expelled him last year. Jared Michael Cano was charged with threatening to throw, project, place or discharge a destructive device. Cano also faced charges of possession of bomb-making materials, cultivation of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. Police said they found a diary with minute-by-minute plans to carry out the plot, including a reference that he wanted to exceed the casualty count of the 1999 massacre at Columbine High School in Colorado.
